I did an interactive program to input and store employee paycheck
information including total net pay into txt file. I can read it from
txt file but how can i lets say modify it to calculate the average of
all totals, based on many user inputs to txt file?

Is there a C++ language question I am not seeing here? If you can read
those values from files, what's stopping you from adding them all and
then dividing by the number of the values?
