CPU usage

Hello, I am programming in a voip application, the application is very
deppend of resources available like memory and cpu. There is a library
with functions that return these parameters? , we are using gcc under
linux, I need to know the available CPU and reject calls if not
sufficient CPU is available.....

Try comp.unix.programmer.
