I'm really disappointed that no one responded (productively) to my questions
regarding the use of referencecounted objects verses referencecounted
handels. I'm finding this a rather complex, and challenging design area.
There seem to be a lot of tradeoffs in any particular path one chooses to
address the problem of managing dynamically allocated memory automatically.
Is there any particular treatment of this topic that is considered
definitive? What might that be?
I posted a more extensive discussion of the topic to c.l.c++.m, but the
turnaround time there can be rather long. Perhaps one of you oldtimers
could take a break form bickering about who uses the term sideeffect
correctly, and provide a meaningful, and helpful reply to this post.

are talking about, nor whether what we are saying is true.-Bertrand Russell
