Does anyone know which organization standarized c++?

I was wondering, what group standardized c++?

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) put together a
standard that was published in 2003. Before that, there was an older ISO
standard from 1998.

If you're interested you can get a copy of the standard from them (see
the link below). But, it's pretty pricey, and unless you're writing a
compiler, it's probably not necessary.

Alternatively, one can buy it from ANSI web site for 18$.

Cool! I always thought the people who standardized c++ were people in
the government. I guess not.

Nope, in the US the standards body is ANSI, a private non-profit
organization. Globally, the standard is done under ISO. Again
this is a non-governmental organization made up of the various
national standards bodies (such as ANSI).

Can anyone provide me the standard? I don't want to buy it from
http://www.iso.org/iso/en/CatalogueD...&ICS2=60&ICS3=
Shouldn't the standards be free for all?
