How can I check if a thread is alive?

Hi!

I want to check if a thread is still alive or if it has been
terminated. I can't find a function call that handles that..

Do you have a simple answer?
Thank's, Johan

Not in comp.lang.c++, since threads are not defined in standard C++. You
should try comp.programming.threads or a newsgroup about the
compiler/libray/os you use.

Poke it with a stick. If it wiggles, it's alive. :-)

(Sorry, couldn't resist. Perhaps I've been smoking too much, umm, you know,
lately?)
