Strting a process at system startup

Raj
what I want to do is start a process in a windows system (2000/XP) at
the system startup without the user having to login. I know the best
option for this is to write the app as a service. I tried to start it
as a scheduled task but this wasnt of much use. So, I would like to
know if there are any other ways to start an application whenever the
system restarts without the user having to logon. Any suggestion would
be appreciated, Thanks,
-Raj.

Suggestion: try the right newsgroup -- comp.os.ms-windows.programmer.win32
