Need C++ Help For Pci Data Transfer!

4 New Member
Hi guys, I am new to this network but have been looking through the forum and thought that maybe someone could help me with this. I am a senior Electrical Engineering student with a computer science past and am working on a project to transfer data from a Firewire Camera to a PCI FPGA development card. I was wondering if ANYONE AT ALL out there who can help!

I have been working on this for months and I just can't get it to work. I am using C++ and trying to get data from IEEE 1394 to PCI32. If ANYONE knows of ANYTHING that could help please please respond.

Thanks,

Danny

Oh yeah, and helping me isn't considered cheating because completing this project isn't for a grade, it is for a pseudo-client..

Thanks Again

what operating system are you using? do you need to write drivers to talk to the PCI cards are do you already have them?

Hi Horace1,
I am trying to develop this using Windows XP and I have what I need to actually talk to the card. The card is an FPGA development board and what I am trying to do is get data from a firewire camera to the PCI bus and then my digital logic design will take over because that part of it is complete. I don't think it should be that hard but I just can't get it to work, any suggestions?

Here's my problem: I run a gameserver that runs the game "Medal of Honor". On the game server is log file which contains all of the data from the players for that day (kills, deaths, etc...). I have a perl script that runs on my webserver, which is supposed to login to the gameserver and download the log. The problem is that when it gets to the part where it needs to download the file, it aborts. The gameserver FTP requires I use port 24...

We are maintaining our branch accounts at various locations and they are sending monthly reports only. Now we are planning to have a centralised data store at our Head Office so that, all details can be accessed from one place using this intranet.

Hi all, I'm creating client/server app in C# (VS. 2003). So, I need the client to call the server with some auth info (user and pass). If the auth is OK, server will do some work and will prepare a zip-file and some other text and numeric data and will notify the client that everything is ready. And the client will fetch the data. So if it was all console/desktop application, I know what to do (in

Hi all, I'm trying to post multipart/form-data to a web page but seem to have run into a wall. I'm familiar with RFC 1867 and have done this before (with AOLServer and Tcl) but just can't seem to get it to work in Visual Basic. I tried coding it once myself from scratch and then modified a class that I found on a newsgroup (referenced below). Both seem to be doing the same thing and neither works (or rather, they seem to work but the...

Hi all, Our asp programs seem to have different behaviors when users use IE and firefox. One of most annoying things is the data disappearing problem in IE but not in firefox.(Note: Sometimes a search program can run much faster in Firefox than in IE, don't know why) For example, I have an internal user interface which they can do different product data entry, the program will use Server.Transfer to different asp program for data

I've spent the last few minutes searching for this question and I found an answer, but it wasn't quite what the client wanted. I have a simple online form where the user needs to fill out five fields out of nine. The other four are already there and filled out for the user. When they hit submit, all data is sent to us. But, if they desire (for whatever reason) the user can possibly delete what is already there and fill in something...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
