Handling logical predicates

Hi,

M'm writing a program to output the results of transforming logical
predicates using deMorgan's. Does anyone know of a library that handles
logical predicates?

Cheers,
Michael

Hi! Whats the canonical way for handling raw data. I want to read a file without making any assumption about its structure and store portions of it in memory and compare ranges with constant byte sequences. _I_ would read it into arrays of unsigned char and use C's memcmp(), but as you see Im a novice C++ programmer and think that theres some better, typically used, way. Hi all, I've got two somewhat general questions related to exception handling in C++. My usual programming language is the lovely and flexible Python, but for various reasons, including the need to interface with third-party libraries, get extra performance, etc. I have to use C++. Now in Python, being a dynamically typed language, everything is pushed to the run-time. Additionaly, since the language does not guarantee deterministic...

Say I've created a piece of code that involves both sql, io and some number conversions. Being a responsible developer I have tried to catch all of the exceptions - but how can I be sure? Is there a way to list exactly which exceptions that are not handlet? (design time) I could of cause ... use catch (Exception e) {...} as the final catch ... but I would prefer to now the "landscape" before doing that ..

I have read a couple articles online, read my Jesse Liberty book but I am still confused as to just what the best practices are for using exceptions. I keep changing how I'm working with them and it has now, after 15k lines of code resulted in a royal mess! It's my hope to ask some specific questions with scenario examples and that some of you might offer a little guidance or general suggestions. 1) string...

Hello, My application is writing relevent events to log file on local machine. Due to amount of transactions i need to open new log everyday and to save the last one according to the next flow: If the log file exists , check what is the log file creation date , compare it to the running logical day and if they are not the same open new log file and add to the log file name the creation date and copy all the data from current existing...

As was seen in another thread, there's a great deal of confusion with regard to surrogates. Most programmers assume Python's unicode type exposes only complete characters. Even CPython's own functions do this on occasion. This leads to different behaviour across platforms and makes it unnecessarily difficult to properly support all languages. To solve this I propose Python's unicode type using UTF-16 should have gaps in its index,...

Okay, after having bashed my head against this long enough I thought of you guys... I thought having exhausted just about every other .NET concept I would come back to predicates because Microsoft's "EndsWithSaurus" demonstration is beyond useless at explaining what this is useful for. Having previously understood delegates and got my head around those, predicates finally makes sense...although I still think Microsoft's example is ridiculous. I...

Inspired by Jon, I did a demo prorgram showing three ways to declare predicates, in for example the "FindIndex" and "FindLastIndex" methods of Lists, but in general you can do this for any predicate. Note the most compact way is to use Lambda notation and anonymous functions, the first way shown below. The most 'intuitive' way is to 'hard code' the predicate using a predicate method, the second way shown below, but the best way (for me)...

Hi I was using a query previously, that was efficient select * from table where pred1 and pred2 and pred3; Later I was asked to introduce new ones, but they were not based on table columns but variables declared in SP. select * from table where pred1 and pred2 and pred3 and variable1 ='number1 and variable2 =number2;

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
