For compiling and general info about the compiler:

For the code I suggest you buy a book, I am in almost the same dilemma

I don't want any part of the previous discussion on Visual Basic versus Visual Basic.Net. My query is about using Visual Basic for Applications; and whether it is better to use Visual Basic 6 or Visual Basic.Net as a springboard for studying VBA. I use Office 2000 and would like to use VBA as a tool to customize it. I have zero programming experience. I would like to read through and work on the examples of a beginners

Hi everyone, I am developing a site in which the root will be set with Anonymous & Basic permissions. Past that I will have an application (directory) in which I will be developing applications. In the past, I have been able to use a ISAPI Filter to add the response headers dynamically, and add the authentication to the request, therefore, allowing users into the secure directory, and all of this is form based, there is no browser...

After inserting the third CD during the installation process, the program starts rolling back the installation and displays an error message. I am running Windows 2000 SP4, installing VB.Net from the Deluxe Learning Edition (Standard Edition). I have done the installation three times with virus protection and firewall turned OFF to be sure that I didn't make a simple mistake in the installation process, all with the same result. The error...

Greetings and salutations. I began programming God knows how many years ago in basic on the Commodore 64. I dabbled in a little assembly as well. I moved on to the PC eventually and stuck with basic under DOS and some C,C++ as well. Had a lot of fun. Concentrated mostly in the area of communications via modem, BBS's and that sort of thing. When windows came about, I lost interest in programming, being such a DOS-BOY. It seemed like I...

(ie the equivalent of _call.setUsername("Myname") name from within a Java client proxy)...

Hi there My compay has a number of Visual Basic 6 applications which are front endeed onto either SQL Server or Microsoft Access databases. Now we are in process of planning to re-write these applications into Visual Basic.Net. My managers main thought is that Visual Basic 6 is (or has!) stopped being supported by Microsoft.

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
