You need to ask in platform specific newsgroup. The C++ standard
language, which is discussed in this newsgroup, does not have any
function named InternetReadFil e(). See the FAQ and Welcome.txt
links below for more appropriate newsgroups.

Is there a way to set up Apache to invoke a PHP equest when a file (a image for example) is downloaded? Say, then, that http://www.foo.com/downloads/app1.zip is downloaded, Id like to have Apache in turn invoke a PHP script which may be used to write a log. Thanks, Joshua

I have COM component embedded on html page. It has version 1.0.0.1 (by default). I have converted it in cab file. Code of html is something like: <HTML><HEAD></HEAD><BODY><OBJECT CLASSID="CLSID:D3BEF9B9-F7B5-4C24-B247-32257F37FDB6" CODEBASE="COM.CAB#version=1,0,0,1"></OBJECT></HTML> As per my understanding if client access this page for the first time the cab file will be downloaded, unzipped and the COM component should be registered on the...

I have a wee issue, where I have two different web sites; http://dev/home.htm http://live/home.htm On both sites, there is a custom OCX file being used. However, it may be a different version on the dev versus the live sites, because I am working on it... This is fine, as I have a routine that downloads the OCX file, but MS standard only downloads a later version. Hence, if I work in the dev site, then switch to live, it still uses the...

I teach Access online, which means I'm constantly downloading databases from the Internet in order to grade and/or troubleshoot them: 54 database files per week, minimum. I'm running Windows XP, which I THINK is the source of my having to go in and unblock each downloaded database before I'm allowed to work with it. Or perhaps there's something in Access I haven't been able to track down. In either case, I'm growing weary of being thusly...

Hello, I've looked through several newsgroups and have yet to find help with this problem. We have a device we can access through IE, using a URL, that returns an XML string. For example, typing "http://192.168.1.254/cgi-bin/dataProxy?oper=queryEvents&raw=1" into IE returns this XML String: <?xml version="1.0" ?>

Is there a way to make the internetreadfile function read records that are terminated by newlines instead of reading into a buffer. It would make it much easier for me to process. I suppose I could read the whole file and split into an arry, but how do I split on a CRLF ? Mark

Some sage tech told me, in an online discussion on how to keep my computer clean and working smoothly, that it was ok to delete all of the "downloaded program files" that reside in that internet options, browsing history, settings, view objects, place....(i have IE7, so to get to them is a little different than IE6, etc.). Anyway, I took his "wise and sage" advice and deleted all of my DOWNLOADED PROGRAM FILES, while I was doing my other...

I need some advice re permissions etc. Here's the situation: at my workplace, I have a website which sits in a folder created by the IT manager, and given certain permissions (I'm not even yet sure how to determine what the permissions are). Whenever I'm at my workplace I just copy and paste files from my local machine to the web folder and it's on the web. Easy! But at home, I have dialup access and needed to upload files to the same folder....

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
