Data Binding

2 Bit
Hi,
I am just learning C#. I have an Access VBA and SQL background.
I don't understand the databinding controls in the winform toolbox. I feel I should be able to just pull them across from the toolbox and create bound controls, or a bound form - but the book shows me code that I have to write.
If this is the case, why have GUI controls for it ? What am I missing here ?

Thanks in advance for your help.
