Microsoft provides (in great detail) how to properly use File.Copy and File.Move in C#.
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc148994.aspx

Their example in case you don't want to navigate to the link:
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1.         string sourceFile = @"C:\Users\Public\public\test.txt";
  2.         string destinationFile = @"C:\Users\Public\private\test.txt";
  3.
  4.         // To move a file or folder to a new location:
  5.         System.IO.File.Move(sourceFile, destinationFile);
