Convert C# list<string> to C++ Variant pointer in COM Component method

Hi
I have a COM Component written in C++, which has one method MyMethod(VARIANT* pNameList).
This pNameList has one SAFEARRAY, which has lis of names.
I have one C# client which wants to pass list<string> nameList to MyMethod.
In Visual Studio.Net editor I can see MyMethod(ref object).
My question is how to convert c# list<string> into VARIANT pointer?
All hints/Tips/Solution are welcome.
