Crystal Report subreport issue when running from .NET app

I have an issue with a Crystal Report that I am using in my C# program.

I created the report in Crystal Reports XI(R2).

The report's datasource is an SQL stored procedure, and contains a subreport in the report header.

The subreport's datasource is another stored procedure.
Both reports require the same 2 parameters.

I linked the main report's parameters to the subreport's parameters.

Previewing the report in Crystal XI, I supply the main report with the two parameters, which get forwarded to the subreport, and everything is OK - I get the expected results.

Running the report from my c# program, however, does not give me the expected results.

I set the main report's parameter values, the main report populates correctly, but I get nothing in my subreport.

I added the two sub report parameters to the header of the subreport itself, and I can see that the correct parameters are being sent, however my subreport does not show any detail.

I am using Visual Studio 2010 - I don't know if there may be an issue here, but using Visual Studio Crystal Reports, previewing the report in the designer gives me the same result as running in the program - no records in subreport.

The curious part is that I have an additional subreport in my main report header just below the subreport that is not populating which is linked to an additional stored procedure - this subreport's links also take the same 2 parameters (linked the same) as both the main report and the troublesome subreport. This second subreport works fine not matter where I run it from.

Has anyone had any problems that are similar? I'm wondering if it has something to do with my stored procedure?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
