Getting a variable name

7
I am creating a program that performs calculations on hundreds of input variables and outputs them in thousands of output variables.

Each variable is declared as an instance of the VariableType class. One of the members of VariableType is name, and the other is value.

All of the variables get stored in a master list of type List<VariableType>, As a result, there are thousands of objects in the list. For any given object, I would like to be able to see which variable it was created from. How can I do this in Visual C# 2010?

Thanks
