RichTextBox and RTF problem with a formula

19
Hi,

Not sure if this is a limitation of the RichTextBox or a problem with OpenOffice and it's exporting of RTF files.

I have generated quite a few RTF files using OpenOffice 3.2 and they've worked without a problem when I've loaded them into a RichTextBox. All of the formatting, fonts, sizes and colours work without a hitch.

I now want to import equations created using the OOo equation editor. I've created the equation, saved as RTF and tried to bring that in. Nothing happens. No untrapped errors or any other kind of problem., but nothing in the RichTextBox either.

I can't see anything on MSDN about this and after googling for quite a while, can't see much on there either to say if it can or can't be done.

Any help would be appreciated here.

Paul

Do the formulas show up when opened with say WordPad or ms Word (or even back into OO or googledocs?)

Shows up happily in OOo. Not tried with word pad or word.

It's possible that OO uses an extension of RTF that is not supported elsewhere?

Looks that way. Export a word formulae as rtf and it's straight in. Thanks :-)
