How to set datasource parameter on usercontrol from pageload of aspx file.

I am using a usercontrol to collect search criteria. I use the same control for two different pages. On one of the pages I need the dropdown to have fewer options to choose from. How can I set the default parameter from the aspx page so it returns the correct dataset. Below is the code for the datasource control on the usercontrol that I want to set the "Level" default value.
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. <asp:ObjectDataSource ID="statusDataSource" runat="server"
  2. TypeName="datamanager"
  3. SelectMethod="GetReferenceData">
  4. <SelectParameters>
  5. <asp:Parameter Name="Level" Type="int32" DefaultValue='0'/>
  6. </SelectParameters>
  7. </asp:ObjectDataSource>

I solved this by creating a label on my control and then set the value in the aspx page. In the control's page_load event I set the selectparameter default to the value of the label.
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. statusDataSource.SelectParameters["level"].DefaultValue = levelLabel.Text;
