Strange problem with user identity

Hi there

I have a strange problem with the following code, used to retrieve the User's identity, which is required to display a free-format text box. I am able to display the text box when I hard-code in my own computer ID, but cannot get the code below to return anything.

I'm sure it was definitely working a few weeks ago.

HttpContext.Current.User.Identity.Name.ToLower().Replace(@"pine\", " ");
 

Has anyone else had this problem and if so, what fixed it?
