I am trying to prevent screen flickering when clicked on a button; how do I

Just to give you more info:
I have a form with many controls including buttons. When I click on a
button control; it brings up a little modal window with some options and OK
button. I select an option and click OK; this window closes band the entire
form flickers. It seems that the cursor moves through each and every control
on the form.
