Internal Web Statistics / Hit Counter

I've been looking for some sample web hit counters code so that I can place a
hit counter onto one of our Intranet Sites. I need this to be all internal
and everything I see on Google seems to require using another site to keep
track of my statistics. Since I am wanting to keep track of is internal web
traffic for our internal intranet site, I need to write my own.

My only thought at this time is to use JavaScript or CSharp to gather this
information and to write some of the end-user information to a seperate
database or log file. My main objective is to find out what and how often
each page is being visited, on what date, what kind of browser, when and who,
plus what IP address is searching the site, etec. I'm also interested in
finding out how long someone has been on the site, by page.

I just haven't been able to find any code samples on the web that I can use
to get started. Any suggestions, or am I better off writing my own hit
counting module as I mentioned above?

Thanks,
Greg
