In another posting I noted I need to be able to activate an event via code
when the value in the field changes. I have been able to get a javascript to
work. It's a javascript:alert, which displays a Hello World message box when
data is changed in my field. The field type is an <Input Type>. To get this
Javascript to work I setup an "onchange='javascript:alert(\"Hello World\");'"
within the <Input Tag.
Now, as I have stated in another posting, I'd like to use a javascript even
such as this and have it scan all the controls on the current page, filter
for specific fields based on a passed paramter and then peroform a
calculation and place the results in anohter <Input type field.
So, I'd like to have a javascript that will accept a parameter (field name)
and then calculate the total of fields on the current page and place them in
a specific field on the page.
Does anyone have any ideas how I could this type of javascript put together.
I aplogize that I have little experience with web development, C# and
javascript and have no idea how to proceed. If anyone can point me in the
right direction ro refer me to some good sites that may have somo examples,
that would be great. Or a sample javascript would be great to.
Thanks.
