In .Net 1.1, how to notify a parent container of a property change?

The application is a .Net 1.1 application. There is a PropertyGid
Control whos SelectedObject is being set to a custom data class. The
PropertyGrid is not updating correctly when a property in the custom
data class is being changed outside the control. How do you go about
configuring the data class to notify the parent?

I know that in .Net 2.0, the data class simply implements the
INotifyPropertyChanged interface and then when a property changes, the
class fires the INotifyPropertyChanged::PropertyChanged Event. Is
there something like this in .Net 1.1?
