Problem parsing an xml document

I need to bind *some* nodes of an xml document to an asp.net Menu
control. The problem is that the XML document uses the same node name
and attribute name for for the entire document among all levels like
so:

<node attr1="blahblah" attr2="blahblahblahblah">
<node attr1="flufffluff" attr2="shshshshsh">
<node attr1="cluckcluck" attr2="naynaynay" />
<node attr1="chillaladolads" attr2="lasfojelajdfljalsdf" />
<node attr1="eoijoawelkjladsf" attr2="eradsjl adflasdflad" /
>
</node>
<node .....>
... ...
</node>
<node .....>
... ...
</node>
</node>

Note that the node name "node" attribute names "attr1", "attr2" are
fixed in this xml doc, they don't change in the entire doc, the only
thing that changes is the content of the attributes. And the number
of child nodes is not predictable.

Now, how do I get attr1 values of all level-two nodes in this
example? Thank you.
