open pdf file and edit it

Hi,

I know it's possible to open and edit a word document in hidden mode
(without opening word), by edit i mean to replace one text with another.

is it possible to do the same with pdf files too?

if yes, how can it be done?

thanks,
Gidi.

Yes you can do it, but you need to have the professional version of adobe
acrobat with you, you need to buy that.

If you are not looking to do complex formating in the PDF document, then
there are open source PDF libraries where they suppurt creating/ editing PDF
files. SharpPDF comes to my my mind immediately.

ABCpdf is highly rated; I evaluated it once (and gave it a strong
thumbs up, but the project never happened):

http://www.websupergoo.com/abcpdf-8.htm
http://www.websupergoo.com/helppdf6n...thods/read.htm

(note that in addition to reading pdf, it apparently can use
OpenOffice.org to help it work with office-esque documents,
including .doc, .xls, .rtf, .wpd, .wk1, etc)

Hi,

Thanks for the help.

I think that explaining what i need will help you to give me the best advice.

i have a word document which i need to replace some strings and print it, i
know how to do it when i have a word installed on my machine, but not all
stations have word installed, and i'm looking for a way to do it without
having word installed.

i tried to convert my doc file to html, but it messes it up.

so i'm looking for another way, i have open office installed on all the
stations without word, but i couldn't find an example of how can i edit and
print my document.

so what do you thing will be the best way of doing it?

thanks,
Gidi.
