Hi,
I recently received the following advice from a MS programmer, but I
am afraid I don't quite comprehend the meaning of what he is saying.
Is it possible for someone here to explain to me what is going on and
if it is possible to make use of this information in C#?
"FastCGI protocol (www.fastcgi.com) requires that the STDIN handle is
replaced with the transport handle. In the case of TCP, we create and
bind a socket to an ephemeral port before handing to the FastCGI
process."
and
"The standard input handle for the FastCGI process is actually a
handle to a named pipe or a socket. You need to co-erce this into a
type c# will understand."
(all of this from here: http://forums.iis.net/p/1146857/1858811.aspx)
I know _what_ STDIN is, i know _what_ a TCP socket is and what a named
pipe is. I don't quite understand how STDIN can be a handle to
something else or how I might interpret this from C#. Any help?
Regards,
Pieter
