issuing my SQL query if I close the browser or move into another page ( ie
whle executing in the databse serevr) will the SQL execution in server
continue or immediately stop.If it still continue how I can stop the
execution (by disconnecting the present database connection ???).

Please help.

Rinu,

You really can't. The server won't know that the connection has
terminated (as far as I know), and will continue processing the page. I'm
not sure if ASP.NET has some connection failure code to stop processing the
page in the event of a disconnect, but it is unlikely.

Your only real defense in this situation is a call to
Response.IsClientConnected, but if you have already issued your database
call, then it's probably a moot point.

I'm not very sure of how it will work, but I'm pretty sure that the
execution will continue, up to the point where the engine is ready to start
sending back some response, at this point as the client broke the connection
it will get an error and most posibly discard the processing.

If you do not get a good answer here you should post this in other groups,
as the same apply no matter what language you are using.
