Dynamically set system up with 2 monitors as extended desktop

I would like an application I am building to analyse the users monitor
setup - if there are 2 screens present I want to programmatically set
them up so that the laptop screen is primary, the external monitor is
secondary and that they are configured as an extended desktop.

I know how to get the current resolution etc of each screen using the
Screens namespace and the Bounds property but I do not know how to set
the system up as extended desktop. Can anyone help me with this?
