Hi Desmond,

Why don't you want to use third-party applications? E.g. http://icofx.xhost.ro/features.html
is powerful and free tool to create icons.

In vs2005, right-click on the project, Add New Item and select Icon File
which brings up an icon editor.

I believe that one of the groups that begins:

microsoft.public.vb

will get you there, as these groups are for pre-.NET VB.

nntp://news.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.vstudio.general. Also, both VS 6
Pro and Enterprise come with an icon editor.
