installer loses signature

Hi,

I am trying to sign an application and then generate an msi for it.

As a post-build step I first run "mt.exe" to add a 'manifest' to the exe.
(this manifest is required by Vista)
A second post-build command digitally signs the exe.

When I verify the properties of the exe, it shows as signed (with a filesize
of 138 kB)

In the same solution I have a setup-project. This builds an msi file.

When I now install my application (using that msi), the exe that is installed
is NOT signed (and has a size of 132 kB)
Why is that? Or rather, how can I persuade that setup project to keep
the signature?
Note: when I remove the post-build steps and sign that exe through the
project properties screen, the same happens (except that it does not have the
manifest that is required for Vista certification)
