MDI document indexing

I have a simple need.

scan bills into the computer, ocr them,
use c# to build some simple screen that would allow copy/paste from
the ocr into author, and a few keywords.

this would be updated into the file on the hard drive (in the summary
tab on the file>properties)

why am i not finding any code out ther th help me along - this has got
to be something that someone else has done??????

You haven't said where your own efforts have got to...

As a starter for 10, the scanning, saving and any watermarks etc can
be made simpler using tools like "ImageMan .Net" / "ImageMan .Net
Twain". That leaves the OCR; this is *not* a simple requirement.
Google may have some hits - e.g. "Asprise" (never used it).
