developer express, xtragrid, counting (enumerating) rows

hi

developer express xtragrid and treeview
i cannot find how can i enable row numbers (ex on the left side, just
like in excel) to be automatically calculated and displayed, despite sorting
and stuff. i want column something like 1,2,3,4...on the left side.
can someone help me?
