C# Express MSBUILD Question -- using the Message Task

I added a Message Task element to the BeforeBuild Targe in a C#
project as shown below, but I don't get the test message in my
"Output" or "Error List" windows. Any suggestions?

<Target Name="BeforeBuild">
<Message Text=" Test the Message Task." Importance="high" />
</Target>
