use of app.config file under win2k server

hi,

Currently i am using a app.config file to store the constants used in
the business layer, the problem here is the business layer is being
hosted on win2K machine where we cannot have a seperate config file for
component.

Under Win2K all the configuration settings for COM are supposed to be
stored in dllhost.exe.config . Since dllhost.exe.config can be accessed
by any application, We need to find another way where we can cache our
application settings, at the first call. One possible way I see is
Creating an APPdomain and assigning the configuration file to this
appdomain at runtime

any help will be appreciated

Regards
Amit
