Cup setup from 2 arraylists, suggestions on approach

I'm developing an application which I'm going to use to make custom cups
while playing Fifa (soccer game on xbox).

I have now made the "first page" with the choice of how many players/teams
that are going to participate (4, 8, 16, 32...)
All the teams are gathered in an ArrayList, but I'm wondering about how to
set up the matches..if it's 4 teams in the cup, it's going to set up 2
matches, then the winners from those matches will advance to the final...

Any suggestions to kick me in the right direction?
