saving settings question

AMP
Hello,
I have a Settings.settings file in my project where I put a
name=FileforUpload, type=string and Scope as user. the Value is a path
to a file

In my code I have.
Properties.Settings.Default["FileforUpload"] = UploadedFileName;
UploadedFileName gets its name from a opendialog box so we can save the
last path.

This code does not save anything.

I also have a Settings.designer.cs tha has the following:
public static Settings Default {
get {
return defaultInstance;
........
.........
}
public string FileforUpload {
get {
return ((string)(this["FileforUpload"]));
}
set {
this["FileforUpload"] = value;
}

But when I step through it it never runs the "set" when I try to change
it to the value of UploadedFileName.

Help
Thanks
Mike.
