how to open a project from visual source safe?

I have a project staged in source safe. What is the right way to open
the project from source safe and get all the depended files on to my
local pc? I do not have the project locally in my PC. I am trying to
get it in a right way.
Thanks in advance for the help.

There are 2 ways.

Open up the (program) VSS, and find the project. Right click it, set
working folder. Right click and "Get Latest Version".
If you want to change a file, you'll need to "right click ... check out"
(and check in )

OR

If you're in VS, go the file menu.
Source Control, Open Project from Source Safe. Something like that.

I actually prefer method #1.
If its a web application, you'll need to find the webinfo file, and match it
up with your IIS settings.
