VS2003 net: Can it be upgraded to .net 2.0 ?

Hi all,

We have the architect version of VS 2003 .net at work. I was looking at the
info on .net 2.0 and it looks like they included a class for the serial
port. Useful stuff for me. Can the 2003 version be upgraded to 2.0 ?

Thanks

VS 2003 is "hard bound" to use .NET 1.1. If you would like to use .NET 2.0,
you have to either use VS 2005 or .NET SDK.

You may also consider the Express versions of Visual Studio
(http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/express/)

Hi Rodo,

in addition to what Siva M. has already said, I'd like to note that from the
sales-oriented point of view that yes, you can upgrade your Visual Studio
..NET 2003 to the latest Visual Studio 2005 version.

For pricing information, you can go to:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/howtobuy/

And for a comparison between the different editions that are available:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/pr...e/default.aspx

Hope this helps!

No

Or should I say yes, buy VS2005 :-)
