Problem accessing a COM component on a Windows 2000 Server

I have a COM object that I need to access from a C# aspx page. When I run
the page on my local system (XP Pro), I have no problems with getting the
data I need from the control. When I install the object on our 2000 Server
machine everything seems to work except that the functions that I call are
not returning any data. The string that I pass in is unmodified by the
functions within the COM object. Here is a sample call:
string tempStr = "";
hwk.GetFirstname(ref tempStr);
Label1.Text = tempStr;

This COM object is one that I created myself and if I return a hardcoded
string in the COM object GetFirstname function, I still don't get the value
modified by the COM object from C# on Windows 2000 Server. But everything
works fine on Windows XP. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong?
