my net 1.1 app is faster than 2.0?!


Process.Start ("http://website.com");

net v2 is about 2/5 sec's slower to respond than 1.1
no seriously
why? do i have to write something else now?

Hareth,
There could be a hundred different reasons why your ASP.NET 2.0 website
appears to be slower to respond than your ASP.NET 1.1 website, none of them
having anything to do with whether ASP.NET 2.0 is "really" slower.

I had a lengthy discussion with Scott Guthrie on this subject during the
late BETA stage of ASP.NET 2.0 and when we were done, I was satisified that
ASP.NET 2.0 is most definitely *NOT* "slower" than ASP.NET 1.1.

Could be any reason. Is the code exact same or different? Are you using a
debug build vs a release build for testing? What is changed?
