Starting yesterday, for some reason a Build or Rebuild will not generate a
debuggable .exe in Debug if one already exists. Before doing a build, I have to
manually delete the file. If I don't do this, then no breakpoints etc work.
I THINK it might have coincided with installation of a ZoneAlarm update, but the
problem persists even if I turn ZoneAlarm off. 4 1844
Ian,
What is the error that you get? Does it tell you that the exe is in
use?

Does this happen if you creat a new simple project? Check your EventLog and
see is there anything in there.

Just tried it on a new project and the same, but what I found is, the .exes in
the bin directory are the old version, but the .exes in the obj directory are
the new versions.
Is this some setting ?
I'm using VC# Express
Nothing in event viewer

I'm fairly sure it was ZoneAlarm.
A week after the previous version (6.5.714.000) they released a new version
(6.5.722.000) with the comment that "an error prevented some programs from running"
After installing the update the problem went away.
