SQL Server 2005 Mirroring Connection String

I have a mirrored database setup in SQL Server 2005, SP1.

I wrote a .NET client application to insert 1 record every second into
a table within the mirrored database. The idea was to use this client
to test failover scenarios. In my first test I pulled the NIC cable
out from the principal server. I was expecting the client to
automatically start inserting rows again once the mirror became the
principal. This did not happen, instead I got a timeout expired
exception. I even went as far to try re-establishing the connection up
to 5 times. Still, no luck!

This is the connection string I am using:

server=sql1;uid=sa;pwd=12345;Initial Catalog=TestMirror;Failover
Partner=sql2

Any suggestions?
