FinalReleaseCOmObject and .NET 2.0 Interop??

P: n/a

..NET 2.0
C# 2.0
Windows XP SP2

Just getting started in .NET 2.0... Very experienced with .NET 1.x &
COM Interop...

I heard a rumor that .NET 2.0 was going to make COM interop better by
relieving me of the burden of implementing IDisposable and using
Marshal.ReleaseCOMObject everywhere. Is this rumor true??

The only thing I have found on google and MSDN is FinalReleaseCOMObject
- is that thie big improvement? Do I still need to be anal retentive
when doing interop in C# or is there something new that I have not
stumbled across yet??

I'm reading what I can find but If anybody can give me some useful
keywords or links to uncover com interop "best practices" for .NET 2.0
it would be greatly appreciated. Thanx for your help...
