EventLogEntry and EventID

Hi,

I am debugging one of my apps and I noticed that the EventID property
of the EventLogEntry class does not always match up with the ID that is
displayed in the MMC event viewer. Some of the EventID values I get,
are large numbers when I retrieve it through the EventLogEntry class
member EventID and that do not seem to relate to the MMC event viewer
displayed value at all.
Am I missing something really obvious here?

Thanks in advance,
Regards,
Pramod

Please see mypost at http://forums.asp.net/1340531/ShowThread.aspx#1340531
also see
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.diagnostics.eventlogentry.eventid.aspx
You may need to mask off some high-order bits in order to make the CategoryId usable.
