Question on suppressing Validating event

Hey guys,

I have a custom text box that derives from the regular forms textBox and
overrides OnValidating. If the control sees its contents are invalid, it
won't allow itself to lose focus until the error is corrected.

Now, there are two cases in which I would like to ignore whether the
contents are valid or not. One is when the user clicks the little 'x' to
close the form, and another is when the user clicks a "Close" button on the
form, that would then close the form.

Is there a way for me to handle those two cases of closing the form? Right
now the control just steals the focus back.
