custom validator control

hi all,

I'm using a custom control validator to find the entered text in a text
box is a palindrome r not...I have used only the server side
validation. The procedure i followed is created a text box to enter
the string, and a custom control, and on double i have writtent the
following code...but the validator control is not working.

private void cstmvldtr_ServerValidate(object source,
System.Web.UI.WebControls.ServerValidateEventArgs args)
{
//Getting the string the
string palindrome = args.Value;
string reverse = "";

//Looping through the value
for(int i=txtpalntext.MaxLength;i==0;i--)
{
reverse = reverse + palindrome[i];

}

if(reverse == palindrome)
{
args.IsValid = true;
}
else
{
args.IsValid = false;
}
But on execution the validation doesn't happen, y is that so.
