But I'm not standing by it being the best solution...

Why do you need it to have a \ at the end?

Check the documentation about the Path class. I think this will help you.

Well you don't. In my case, I always want the paths to end with a \
in your case you don't, so remove that bit of code.
Just the trimEnd method of a string is all you need to remove trailing
\'s
