Icon operations in .Net 2.0

Hello everybody.

I need to:
1) Get the icon associated to a file (extension).
2) Convert a Bitmap (of suitable size and with a transparent color) to an
icon and save it to a file.

With .Net 1.1 I had to:
1) Using Interop.
2) Write custom code.

Is there any helper function in .Net 2.0 that can help me performing these
tasks?
