Crash after loading .NET Managed Provider for Oracle

Hello All,

I am having a problem using an ODBC connection after loading the .NET
Managed Provider for Oracle from the Microsoft website. I get one of the
"Send Report To Microsoft" dialogs.

This happens when I try to open an ODBC connection, after setting the
ConnectionString:

MyConnection.ConnectionString = "Provider=OraOLEDB.Oracle; Data Source=" +
HostName + ";User ID=" + UserName + ";Password=" + Password + ";";

try
{
MyConnection.Open();
}
catch (Exception ex)
{
MessageBox.Show(ex.Message);
}
There is no exception thrown, and no connection is made.

This worked fine before installing the download. The crash is reported in
Oracore8.dll.

Any ideas or similar experiences?

Thanks,
PAGates
