Cursor control

I display multi lines in a Datagrid. When I select a row, if the cursor
splits I get locked in the Datagrid area. If select a row with only the
arrow pointer everything is ok. I know its not correct to select and item
when the arrow splits. Is there a way to prevent this from happing or how
can I get out of the datagrid area if it does happen. Please help.
