simple C# editor?

Hi group,
I am looking for a simple C# editor, I would like something as simple as
Notepad or GetDiz but with the highliting tool.
If someone could help it would be greatly appreciated.

The simplest C# editor with syntax highlighting I know is the snippet
compiler. I have seen "notepad2" too, it had syntax highlighting for many
languages, but I think no direct compiler support.

I use Notepad++ (tabbed pages, colored syntax, run batch files or the
compiler from a dialog etc.)

Visual Studio Express is a lightweight version of Visual Studio. As
Microsoft say:

"Lightweight, easy-to-use, and easy-to-learn tools for the hobbyist, novice,
and student developer."

It will have highlighting, intellisense and lots of other useful features.

Hope that helps

I use Crimson Editor personally, has customizable highlighting and a few
other options. Its free too I think.

I second the Crimson Editor vote. Once you figure out how to customize
the highlighting it's great.

Of cource C# is built-in, but I added an additional syntax for a
proprietary macro language in about half an hour.

Send me your Custom Syntax File for ASP.NET development or I'll hold my
breath until I turn blue :-)
